New Curtain

BIG NEWS - THE CURTAIN’S UP!

In June, a brand new motorized ‘grand drape’ was installed on the Palace stage! This dream has come true because of the overwhelming generosity of these amazing friends:

HORTENSE OLDFATHER
and
THE GERALD AND JANET CARRUS FOUNDATION

To them we send our deepest gratitude, a round of applause, and a resounding “MAHALO NUI LOA!”

We also wish to acknowledge the great folks from ATTCO in Honolulu for their expertise and excellent guidance throughout this project. In fact, they have been “super-friends” of the Palace for over a decade. Special mahalos go to Dan Anderson & Jim Ripley for the planning & ordering, and to Paul Tremaine and Stephen Clear for the curtain’s rigging and installation.

And finally, we want to thank Scott Bosch, Bob Alder, and Rick Moore, for donating hours of labor & assistance on this project.

Projection Equipment

BIG Mahalo to Alan Sakaida and Consolidated Amusement Company Ltd. for donating two new lamphouses, plus the two projectors and two sound heads from the Varsity Theater in Honolulu. Mahalo to ATTCO for their help with the packing and shipping of the equipment.

Mahalo to Scott Bosch (seen in photo) for sharing his invaluable expertise with us and for installing all the equipment in the projection booth, and also to Bob Alder for his time and generosity in doing additional work on this project.
